Contacting Your Town Councillor

Please feel free to contact your town councillor about any issues to do with your town.   Each town councillor is your representative and they will do their very best to improve services, resolve issues, listen and hear what you have to say, but please note that their e-mail addresses are purely for town council business only.

All your town councillors are volunteers, serving a term of four years on the town council (or even longer if re-elected at town and parish council elections).  The town council meets every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month (other than August and December when its only the 2nd Tuesday of the month), 7.30pm in the town hall and all are welcome to attend.

Agendas and Minutes

The Town Mayor and Chairman of the council is elected annually in May as is the Deputy Town Mayor and Deputy Chairman.  As with any town council meeting. everyone is very welcome to attend the Annual Council meeting and Mayor Choosing which takes place on the 2nd Tuesday in May in the town hall.  Its quite a spectacle with the Mace Bearers present, the handing over of the Mayoral regalia and the signing of the Declaration of the Acceptance of Office as Mayor/Deputy Mayor.
